Nativescaping for Native Bees, Butterflies and Other Native Pollinators

If you are interested in improving habitat for native bees, butterflies and other native pollinators in your landscape then this class is for you! The class will focus on the needs of resident and migratory pollinator species in Laramie County. Participants will learn about the landscaping components that native pollinators need to survive and thrive including plant selection and habitat needs. This class is focused on native pollinator species and will not provide information on honey bee management.
Nativescaping: Demystifing Native Plant Jargon

Do you want to incorporate native plants into your landscaping but are confused by plant terminology like "cultivar", "nativar", "near-native", "naturalized" or simply the term "native"? Then this class is for you! We will demystify native plant jargon so you will be able to identify key information on plant labels and understand the nuances of various native plant terms. We will also explore the differences between "natural" and "native" landscaping. No gardening experience required. Please be brief but descriptive. Description must be between 35-100 words.
Nativescaping: Creating a Shortgrass Prairie Ecoscape

This is an introductory class to the native plants of the local shortgrass ecosystem and how to incorporate them into your landscaping. If you want to create a shortgrass prairie micro-scape in pots, a shortgrass prairie garden, trying to bring small acreage back to its native glory or simply want to learn more about the flora of Laramie County's shortgrass prairie then this class is for you! Participants will learn what flora and environmental conditions define the shortgrass prairie, basic resources for identifying plants and where to source plants and seeds. No gardening experience required.
