Laramie County Community College

In-class instruction will be held in person Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM and Saturdays 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. In-car instruction scheduling will begin one week before class starts for students who have completed waivers on file. Observation times will be selected during the first hour of the first day of class.

This program is accredited by the Wyoming State Department of Education and meets the basic requirements of the Wyoming Department of Transportation: 30 classroom hours plus six hours of in-car instruction and six hours of observation (12 total hours outside of classroom hours). Optional simulator time is available for registered driver's education students and can be scheduled by contacting the Life Enrichment office. Communication regarding required waivers and in-car instruction scheduling will be via the email provided at registration. REQUIREMENTS: (1) Student must have their driving permit prior to registration. It is highly encouraged for students to have at least 10 hours of driving experience before class starts; (2) student must provide their own licensed and insured vehicle for their in-car instruction drives; (3) students under 18 must have one parent/ legal guardian attend the first ½ hour of the first class, and (4) attendance at all components of the class is required for the certificate to be issued.
