Painting Fundamentals

Pull out your paints and get started on a journey of artistic expression. Topics will include the use of color, composition and balance to create informed pieces of art. Instruction will include hands-on demonstrations, guided observation, class discussion and critique. Acrylic paints are recommended for beginners; Oil paints permitted. A supply list will be provided at time of registration.

You'll pick up the essentials of how wine is grown and made, learn simple tasting techniques, and build the kind of wine vocabulary that makes ordering at a restaurant or choosing a bottle feel effortless. Every class includes a relaxed presentation to walk you through key concepts, plus tastings of 6-8 curated wines that bring the lessons to life. By the end of the course, you'll feel confident navigating wine shops, menus, and conversations. Be prepared to show your state issued ID card the first night of class.

Nativescaping Communities

This class focuses on developing a landscaping design based on native plant communities. Participants will learn what makes a native plant community, why native plant communities are important, as well as, how to incorporate them into your property's unique micro-climates. No gardening experience required. Participants will receive an annotated resource guide, as well as, information on where to source native plants and seed.

Intro to Jewelry

In this introductory course, students will learn how to design, cut, and polish a cabochon to create a unique piece of jewelry. This guided project will teach students how to safely operate the equipment in the metals lab and provide guidance on what tools to purchase for at-home projects. Each student must bring a pair of safety glasses. All other materials are provided. Students may need to retake this course to attain the necessary skill level for the Jewelry Studio.
