LIFE 2146 Outdoor Summer Yoga Series
with Toni Brannan

Come enjoy summer and sunshine during this Outdoor Yoga Series. We will explore all-levels Yoga postures, gentle breathing and nature during this series. Outdoor Yoga is unpredictable and FUN! Balance becomes a new challenge in the grass, flittering birds distract us from the yoga part but connect us to nature and sometimes there's weather. Don't worry, we will move inside if the rain comes down. Do not worry about your skill level as long as you can comfortably move up and down from the floor (ground). We will have limited props and please bring your own yoga mat. You will want to have water and perhaps a towel to place between your mat and the ground. Please note the schedule that breaks up classes around holidays. This class will meet for 4 sessions (not consecutively).
LIFE 2148 The Science of Wellbeing
with Madison Tinker

We all know things that are good for us to do for our wellbeing. Few would argue that smoking is good for your health, and most would agree that good nutrition and regular exercise have health benefits. Despite the abundance of knowledge that each and every person has about what it means to be healthy, the rate of people who feel a lack of general wellbeing can be staggering. Much of our healthcare system is disease and pathology focused, and approximately 80% of all healthcare spending is related to treating negative consequences of lifestyle related conditions. We are here to provide you with the nitty gritty details and the science of wellbeing with realistic and practical steps you can take every day, and the research to back it up. A deep understanding of the pillars of wellness will show you just how interconnected they are to one another, and how the sturdiness of all pillars contribute to a happy and resilient life. Stress. Relationships. Nutrition. Substance Use. Physical Activity. Sleep. Join Madison Tinker, PT, DPT and Justin Sanchez, PTA from Hands On Physical Therapy as they explore the science of wellbeing.
